Try Dark, Not White, in a Small Room
Everyone is told to paint a small room white to open it up. Often it just leaves the walls looking grubby and the corners obvious. A deep colour does the opposite: it blurs where the walls meet and the room stops announcing its own size. Small, dark rooms read as deliberate. Small, white ones read as small.
