I was initially looking for a home staging/styling course. After reading The British College Interior Design's generous course outline and comparing it to all the others available online, I judged The Professional Interior Design Course to be the best for my needs. Home styling is just a small part of what this course has to offer. Considering that I had zero academic background or experience in interior design, it felt like the College was packed with the information that would build the baseline of my interior design journey.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of my learning experience with the College was that my questions were being answered. I read all the material eagerly and developed new questions on every topic. Although the experience was entirely remote, I felt the College could predict my curiosity and provide answers beforehand. Also, I absolutely loved the fact that there was plenty of information on the relevant memberships, events and links to further explore. There is also a tutorial explaining the legal side of things for businesses/freelancers in the UK, which is godsent considering how complicated this aspect is.
I really appreciated how the assignments aligned with the course material. I had all the necessary information to complete them, and if I encountered any issues, the support team was always there to assist me (which I'm endlessly grateful for)! Some of the assignments were quite challenging, but I felt a great sense of achievement after completing them. My tutor's feedback was extremely helpful, especially when he provided insights from a 'client's' perspective, prompting me to consider the feedback in that light. In fact, the feedback itself is like a comprehensive tutorial.
Unlike traditional universities, the College provides us with all the information we need to start a business immediately. It's up to the students to take it to the next level, but the comprehensive knowledge leaves nothing out.
The learning experience at this College has been the most enjoyable one in my life so far. It has given me an incredible foundation in interior design and has armed me with essential business skills and insights into the UK market. It has truly transformed my perspective! The BCID team has played a pivotal role in shaping the path to my future success in this field. I'm on the brink of launching my own consultancy business as a freelancer in the UK, and I couldn't be more thrilled!
