Undertaking The Professional Interior Design Course with the British College of Interior Design opened my eyes to the interior design world and all areas within the industry, from technical drawings, to space planning and many more.
It allowed me to think about whether I wanted to specialise in an area within the industry or touch on all areas and assisted me in learning how to form a design for a prospective client from the initial client meeting through to completion.
The tutorials I received each week are something I will always refer back to. When I was initially thinking about enrolling in the course, I couldn’t believe (and still don’t believe) how much we as interior designers need to know – not only from the design side, but also in regards to building your relationships, putting together quotes and many more aspects of the business you wouldn’t know about unless you have studied, or are working, in the industry. This is where The Professional Interior Design Course helped me. The information I was provided with and the support from my tutor was amazing. The efficiency of the administration team also really helped with my learning.
The course provided me with the confidence to work alongside an interior design business to gain further knowledge and work experience. I believe this was pivotal in setting up my own business, James Gostelow, specialising in interior design and property development.
I have been lucky enough to work on a number of beautiful and exquisite residential and commercial projects from distant corners of the globe ranging from homes in London, ski chalets in Austria to Grade II listed manor houses and cottages in the depths of Surrey.
If you want to go into this industry, the course offered by The British College of Interior Design is not to be missed.
