I’ve always loved all things about interiors. As a teacher, I created classroom environments that allow students to grow and be curious about the world and enhanced my own living spaces – French vintage inspired - an eclectic mix of pieces set against a white background with a hint of colour and texture. So, I enrolled with The British College of Interior Design to study for a diploma in Professional Interior Design.
The twelve tutorials covered the practical knowledge and skills of colour schemes, staging homes, design, drawings, costing, sustainability, and marketing. The reading material was informative and interesting. The tasks were challenging, and the feedback was helpful and encouraging. Overall, extremely rewarding.
Fast forward 12 months, and I have successfully landed my dream role as a stager with Dressing Rooms Home Staging, an award-winning staging company in Yorkshire. During this time, I have enjoyed designing rooms for virtual and physical staging, learning about systems and processes involved in running a business.
To those of you out there who are considering studying interior design – go for it! I highly recommend The British College of Interior Design.
