My passion for interior design started at a young age. When I was 8 or 9 years old, I clearly remember drawing cuts of a house with the furniture. Over the years, my interest in arts grew and I entered an Arts course. After finishing, I graduated in Architecture. I worked as an executive secretary and architect in a company in Angola.
Three years ago, I moved to the UK and it was a change that forced me to change in many ways, both personal and professional. This left me emotionally very low, but my dream has always been very present within me. I believe that my faith is much greater.
In 2021 amid the pandemic, in conversation with my best friend, I told her about my dream of wanting to study interior design. She sent me some links on design history and it was in one of the series that I saw on Netflix that inspired me to apply for The Professional Interior Design Course.
At first, I was a little afraid about online teaching, as I prefer to go to classes, interact with colleagues and teachers, and have contact with the materials. But to my surprise, in each tutorial, I was more committed and more enthusiastic to give and show what I really am capable of.
I learned a lot; each tutorial received was full of fundamental interior design information. I was eager to receive feedback from my tutor, who was always very subtle and friendly in his explanations and advice. The course awoke in me the creative vein that was asleep.
It was thanks to this course that I felt motivated to created Lacreate. It is a small page where I publish decorating works. It is not yet design itself, but I am working on it. During the course I did some work, and the last one was a guest house for a client in Huambo (Angola). In this project, I deposited all my knowledge and passion for interior design and architecture.
I recommend anyone who has the same dream to never give up fighting for what they love to do. Even if it seems impossible, it is never too late to achieve what we so desire. I feel so happy and proud to have completed the course and to have had a fantastic tutor. Thank you all.
