I chose this to study with the British College of Interior Design because of my great passion for interior design. Ever since I was a kid, I've always loved decorating my own home and sketching houses. It's a dream for me to become one of the best interior designers in the country.
Overall, studying with BCID has been challenging and fun at the same time. It's a real test of putting your imagination into concrete designs. To succeed in this course, one must have the passion for it, and along with it, patience and perseverance. If you're not patient with what you do, then you cannot come up with a satisfying work.
Currently, I am working as a design consultant in a retail furniture and building construction firm. I got the job right after I graduated from the course. The company was in need of a design consultant and I took my chance and got myself the position. I also work as part-time interior designer for other clients.
I am really thankful to the College staff and my tutor for everything they have taught me. I'm now applying everything I have learned - from floor plans, to applying ergonomics, to designing with a scientific point of view. A lot of career opportunities await for the knowledgeable interior designer - from designing houses, offices, hospitals, airports, mall window displays - the options are limitless. I would recommend this course to anyone who has a passion for interior design.
