I have always had a passion for making things look nice. So when I enrolled in The Professional Interior Design Course, in addition to my full-time studies, I imagined it would be a pleasant course about stuff I loved. In reality, it was far more than that.
The course material itself is broad and all-encompassing, with very in-depth reading material. Although it is delivered by correspondence, you wouldn’t get better in a classroom. The material is gripping – once you start you get hooked!
The course turns someone with no experience, into a fully trained interior designer. Moreover, it not only gives you the necessary skills but also builds confidence, which is what makes all the difference.
The college staff are unbelievably dedicated and efficient. You can be sure that when you submit an assignment it is immediately forwarded to your tutor. Although people may be worried about getting stuck since there is no face to face contact, help is only an email away. The response won’t be long in coming and is given in a direct and practical way to assist you the most.
The feedback from the tutor is like being in a virtual classroom. Detailed notes accompany each marked assignment and you get real advice from the professionals. They open up your eyes to real life scenarios that always give food for thought and allow you to be fully prepared for any situation a client might present to you in your future career.
The course is not only theoretical but extremely down to earth with very practical assignments. By the end of the course, you actually have an impressive portfolio of work you have accomplished that will impress potential employers and clients.
The fact that the course is self-paced and student can take up to two years to complete it, means you can do it at your convenience and build yourself a career even if you are involved in other things. The fact that it is extremely reasonably priced means you can take it on even if you are pursuing it as a hobby.
I have been asked by friends and family for advice and have been more than able to assist them, with pleasing results. I have personally been involved in a couple of projects - two bedroom makeovers (one on a tight budget) and more recently the interior design of an extension loft bathroom.
In general, I have been able to advise people and professionals on a number of areas of design. Not only is my opinion valued as a result of doing this course, but I have gained a new dimension of confidence in myself.
This course will definitely make an impact on the lives of those who take it, regardless of whether they actually take it on as a profession or not. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone considering it.
