I have always been interested in interior design. The older I got, the more interested I became and found great pleasure in decorating my own homes. But after starting a family in my mid-twenties, family life came first.
With my youngest starting full time school nearly three years ago, I suddenly had more “me time”. I decided to take the plunge last year to study with the British College of Interior Design. And I am so glad I did.
The thing that attracted me to The Professional Interior Design Course was the fact that I could take up to two years to complete it if I needed to. This was a relief because sometimes family life can take over! I also worked part time. With the course being delivered via email, I was able to log in at night when the children were asleep or on my mobile phone when I was out and about.
I completed the course in 12 weeks and the feedback I received each time I submitted an assignment was great. My tutor provided professional advice and gave me confidence when complimenting the work I had done. The feedback was prompt and informative.
Thanks to the College I have had the confidence to complete a few projects whilst studying, and since graduating I have set up my own freelance interior design business, Envi Interiors, specialising in residential interior design.
I would definitely recommend this course to anyone with a passion for interiors. You won’t be disappointed. I’m so glad I took the plunge – I was scared at first that I wouldn’t be able to go back to school in my 30’s, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. Don’t let your fears stop you following your dreams.
