At the time I found the British College of Interior Design’s Professional Interior Design Course, I was looking for inspiration for a new start in life and a new career.
I have always been interested in creative professions, and after designing a couple of interiors for family and friends I suspected I had fallen in love with interior design. I didn't know if I liked interior design enough to make it my future career. I was interested in finding a course that allowed flexible learning and offered a strong information base I could later build on if my heart was in interior design as much as I thought it was. It didn't take me long to become addicted. Signing up for The Professional Interior Design Course was easy and the tutorials were delivered on time, allowing me to manage my learning schedule.
I found the content very easy to read and digest. It offered a great insight in what it means to be an interior designer and how creative and rewarding it is as a career.
Most of all, it highlighted for me how creating a space that reflects a client’s personality and character can touch their lives and how interior design can improve a client’s well-being.
As a person who is very involved in charity work, I have found the tutorial on interior design for disabilities very interesting and eye opening. It helped me understand the needs of people with disabilities and how interior design can make their lives easier.
I now know I have found my passion and I am looking forward to making a positive impact on people's lives through my own interior design practice.
As for my future plans, I am very excited about having opened my own interior design practice specialising in residential interior design. At the same time I am also looking for opportunities to collaborate with other interior designers as I believe creativity can only benefit from collaboration.
